FTBK runs this Tailoring Program for Women in the Community to help to support them. This skill empowers them to care for themselves and their families in a greater way. Spending time together with other women in the Community is a unique opportunity to bond together and support each other.  CURRENTLY 16 WOMEN ARE REGULARLY ATTENDING THIS PROGRAM. IN THIS MONTH THEY WERE PRACTISING CUTTING OUT OF OF PANTS AND PETTICOATS FROM MATERIAL. 

FTBK is running Youth Computer Training in the Balarampur Village for the benefit of young people. These Youth attend this training free of cost to help empower them for their studies now and in the future. This training also has the potential to help them in their career as they pursue viable employment. Each Youth that successfully completes this training receives a Certificate to show their accomplishments and to use for their CV. 

Free To Be Kids team run a free EDUCATION & NUTRITION program in six different slums Salt lake Kolkata for the children in need. Children of those areas get nutritious food after their tuition program. In the month of August 2023, 144 children attended and a total 1252 meals were provided to those children.

FTBK runs this Literacy Program for Women in the Community to help to support them to be able to read and write in Bengali. This skill empowers them to care for themselves and their families in a greater way. Spending time together with other women in the Community is a unique opportunity to bond together and support each other. Currently 80 Women are attending this program and we are running this in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Behala.

In August 2023, we took our Staff, and the young adults that we support, on a refreshing weekend to Bakkhali for meetings and a time of team building together.  Each member enjoyed the sea environment and the local food and participated in lots of swimming, walking. We also had the opportunity to visit Henry Island and Jambu Dwip which were both memorable experiences. 

On the 4^th August 2023,  FTBK social worker visited one of our Care Leavers at his Training College. We are happy to report he is now in his 5^th semester of his Hotel Management course and is progressing well. We have high hopes for his future and it is a privilege to support him to achieve his dreams.

On the 5^th July 2023, the FTBK team visited the Paschim Medinipur Area. The team did a follow up visit with a Care Leaver who we continue to monitor for her best future. At her request to the FTBK team we provided an Education Kit i.e. School bag, school copies, pen, pencil, easer and sharpener. She happily received this support and in addition to this the FTBK team distributed copies & snacks to 60 children residing in this area.

Plantation Day Celebration

On the 22^nd July 2023 Free To Be Kids Charitable Trust celebrated Plantation Day at the Krishnarampur Village in collaboration with the Inner Wheel Club of Behala. The generous members of the Inner Wheel Club of Behala gave a total of 92 trees, of different varieties, to the beneficiaries. The goal of this distribution was to plant a tree that will benefit the environment but also will potentially support the family. In addition to the individual trees to the beneficiaries, the Inner Wheel Club of Behala planted trees in the village road side areas. Each beneficiary was so happy when they received the trees and happily returned to their homes to plant them for the benefit of themselves and their family members.
