It's a beautiful thing when someone will step into a role to care for children who are in need. This sacrafice and commitment should be acknowledged and celebrated. In this month we celebrated the Carers that give to children on a daily basis so they can have protection and their needs met.

Within the Salt Lake Slum Communities our team are running an Education and Nutrition Program for children in order for them to access the very basics of their rights. From Monday to Friday our team work to provide Tuition and Basic Education and alongside that provide a Nutritious Meal to the children who are enrolled and attend the program. 

In the area of Balarampur we are holding a free Youth Computer Course for the local community. In this current batch there are 44 Students studying to achieve a certificate in Computer Application. In the month of April they were studying MS Paint File, Note Pad, MS Word and basic data typing and Photoshop. 

FTBK CHARITABLE TRUST runs a free nutrition program in six different slums in the Salt Lake area of Kolkata. Children of those areas get a nutritious meal at the conclusion of their tuition program. In the month of April 2023, 136 children attended this free nutrition program and a total of 901 meals were provided to those children.

FTBK Charitable Trust runs an Education Project in the Slum Communities of the Salt Lake District. The team provides daily tuition to children with the aim of also admitting them into the local school.  In the month of April 2023 136 Children attended this program!

On the 26^th March 2023, the FTBK team conducted a child marriage awareness program in the Community. Child marriage robs girls of their childhood and threatens their lives and health. Girls who marry before 18 are more likely to experience domestic violence and less likely to remain in school. After this awareness program the FTBK Team distributed Copies, Pens, Pencils, Sharpeners and Erasers to the children. The children and their family were very to receive this training and this support to remain in school and continue their education.

We are so happy to celebrate the success of one we have supported for many years. To see her complete her Food & Beverage Training from Nitika Don Bosco, Kolkata and then move into Full-Time work in her chosen career is such an amazing story of dedication and success! 

In March 2023, one family from our Community celebrated their birthday with our Organisation, the family provided a wonderful lunch and education materials for the Children. We enjoyed getting to know some of their history and the way that contribute to society.

On the 16th March FTBK Charitable Trust organised a Water Filter Distribution Program in partnership with the Rotary Club and Inner Wheel Club of Kolkata. 40 villagers gratefully received these necessary water filters. It was also a wonderful surprise for these women to receive items of clothing that they can use in their daily life! We are so thankful for these kind donations that make a big differences in the lives of many in the Community!

FTBK is running Youth Computer Training in the Balarampur Village for the benefit of young people. These Youth attend this training free of cost to help empower them for their studies now and in the future. This training also has the potential to help them in their career as they pursue viable employment. Each Youth that successfully completes this training receives a Certificate to show their accomplishments and to use for their CV.
