Mosquito Nets Distribution

On 1st December2023 Free To Be Kids Charitable Trust distributed mosquito nets and clothes to the beneficiaries in our Salt Lake project area.  These nets will help protect the children & other family members from diseases such as Malaria and Dengue. A total of 56 people received the mosquito nets and 83 children received clothes during this distribution program.

Blanket Distribution December 2023

In this year Free To Be Kids Charitable distributed 475 blankets to the beneficiaries of our Community Projects.  These blankets were given to children and families residing in the Salt Lake Slums Communities, Polenite and Krishnarampur. These blankets were gratefully received by these families to help them through this winter season.

Tailoring Program December 2023

In this month, December 2023, we continued to work with 16 ladies in our Community to provide training in Tailoring. Each month the women are progressing in their skills and growing in confidence in their capacity.

Education & Nutrition Program December 2023

Our Team Continues their amazing work in the Salt Lake Slum Communities and have provided tuition across the 6 Communities where we work. In this month, December 2023 we have provided to 884 to 163 Children that attended this program.

Literacy Program November 2023

FTBK runs this Literacy Program for Women in the Community to help to support them to be able to read and write in Bengali. This skill empowers them to care for themselves and their families in a greater way. Spending time together with other women in the Community is a unique opportunity to bond together and support each other.

Child Marriage & Child Labour Awareness Program

Free To Be Kids Charitable Trust arranged an Awareness Program in honour of Children’s Day on the 13th November 2023 at our FTBK Main Office. A total of 71 Children, from 7 Areas where we work, participated in this program. The program started with the Indian National Anthem, and then continued with a musical game to capture the attention of each child. During the program, the FTBK staff shared about the importance of Children’s Day and then showed a small video and drama presentation regarding child marriage & child labour. Teaching was also given on these subjects to help create awareness of these issues going on in the Community. As a part of the learning the children in participated in some group activities and games which they enjoyed a lot. After that every participant had lunch together and ended the day with a drawing competition and prize distribution. We were encouraged seeing each child actively participate and enjoying the program.

Children's Day Celebrations November 2023

In honour of Children's Day 2023 throughout our many Programs in the Community we celebrated! Each child was gifted cake and a fruit drink and encouraged to be all they were created to be! The children also celebrated by participating in a special colouring activity and also presented dances showing their unique skills and capacity.

OCTOBER 2023 EDUCATION & NUTRITION PROGRAM

Free To Be Kids team run a free EDUCATION & NUTRITION program in six different slums Salt lake Kolkata for the children in need. Children of those areas get nutritious food after their tuition program. In the month of OCTOBER 2023, 154 children attended and a total 791 meals were provided to those children.

EDUCATION TOUR FOR YOUTH

FTBK Management Team arranged an Education Tour For Young People. The trip started on 18th October 2023 from Kolkata. The team visited Ooty,Tamil Nadu and Visited Doddabetta Mountains Range , Doddabetta Tea Factory, Chocolate Factory, Botanical Gardens, Karnataka Siri horticulture  garden, the Boat House, Tea Guardens, Nilgiri Mountains Range and experienced a Toy Train Ride. After the team reached Mankulm, Kerela they enjoyed watch Elephants, seeing the Cheeyappara Waterfalls, Forests, Dams,  Rivers, Waterfalls, Munnar, Eravikulam National Park, a Tea Museum, Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point and had a ride on an Elephant at Carmelagiri Elephant Park. The team visited Kochi city, taking in the beautiful costal sights and visiting the Police Museum, Kochi Fort area, fishing boats, Chinese fishing net and then finally on the last day the teams journey back to Kolkata took them via Chennai City where they visited Mahabalipuram Beach, VGP Marine Kingdom, Snow Kingdom and St. Thomas Mount.  Team back returned to Kolkata on the 3rd November 2023 with lots of great memories and experiences of regional food, culture and travel.

SEPTEMBER 2023 TAILORING PROGRAM
