FTBK runs this Literacy Program for Women in the Community to help to support them to be able to read and write in Bengali. This skill empowers them to care for themselves and their families in a greater way. Spending time together with other women in the Community is a unique opportunity to bond together and support each other. Currently 80 Women are attending this program. 

FTBK is running Youth Computer Training in the Balarampur Village for the benefit of young people. These Youth attend this training free of cost to help empower them for their studies now and in the future. This training also has the potential to help them in their career as they pursue viable employment. Each Youth that successfully completes this training receives a Certificate to show their accomplishments and to use for their CV. 44 Students are regularly attending this program to complete a Certificate in Computer Application.

FTBK runs a Tailoring Program for Women in the Community to help to support them. This skill empowers them to care for themselves and their families in a greater way. Spending time together with other women in the Community is a unique opportunity to bond together & support each other. In our current batch, 16 women are receiving training every week.

On the 13^th January 2024, Mrs. Suparna Sharma and her family sponsored a special lunch for the 193 Beneficiaries of our  Education & Nutrition Program in Salt lake. The children and their families were so happy after receiving this special lunch in honour of the memory of a beloved family member.

On the 27^th January 2024, FTBK management team arranged a picnic at Bibirhat for all Staff, Care Leavers and Volunteers  A total of 34 people enjoyed the picnic together with good food, games and other activities in a beautiful grounds provided by generous friends of our work.

On the 29^th January 2024, Free To Be Kids distributed blankets and special food packs to children living in the Salt Lake slum communities. This support was made possible by the generosity of the Tulli Foundation. Through this program, 80 children and their families received this helpful support. 

Free To Be Kids provides Computer Training Courses for young people in our Community. We understand that in this day and age, working with computers is such a necessary skill and we want to help all children and youth to be able to access quality training in this area.

On 1st December2023 Free To Be Kids Charitable Trust distributed mosquito nets and clothes to the beneficiaries in our Salt Lake project area.  These nets will help protect the children & other family members from diseases such as Malaria and Dengue. A total of 56 people received the mosquito nets and 83 children received clothes during this distribution program.

In this year Free To Be Kids Charitable distributed 475 blankets to the beneficiaries of our Community Projects.  These blankets were given to children and families residing in the Salt Lake Slums Communities, Polenite and Krishnarampur. These blankets were gratefully received by these families to help them through this winter season.

In this month, December 2023, we continued to work with 16 ladies in our Community to provide training in Tailoring. Each month the women are progressing in their skills and growing in confidence in their capacity.
