Our Education & Nutrition Program continues to make an impact on a daily basis in the Salt Lake Area. We are so happy to make a difference in the lives of children in this area.

We are supporting the Skills Training at the Speech & Hearing Institute for an Adult Male who is Severely Hearing Impaired.These training sessions will continue over the coming months in preparation of his future job placement opportunities.

In March 2022, our Free To Be Kids Children’s Home Social Worker/Home Superintendent & Counsellor attended 2 days of Training organised by the District Child Protection Unit Kolkata at Salt Lake. This training materials helps to ensure effective Child Protection and Care is maintained at all times.

On 21^st February 2022, we celebrated International Mother Language at our Krishnarampur project in collaboration with RMDI. 80 children attended the program.  The child participants drew pictures, and were involved in an extempore & quiz competition. Children gratefully received prizes for their good achievements. 

After two years on only online school, the  government declared schools will open for open with COVID guidelines. The children we support were so happy to attend face to face classes and reconnect with their friends and teachers.

On 18^th February 2022, 7 girls from our FTBK Girl’s Home received their second dose of COVAXIN. This vaccine was made possible by the support of the District Child Protection Unit Kolkata and the Child Rights & Trafficking Department.

In February 2022, FTBK Charitable Trust celebrated our 12^th Foundation Day Anniversary at our Children’s Home Premises.  The children performed dances & songs, all staff and children played game and fun activities together. In the end, the Management Team, children and all FTBK staff had a delicious dinner together. 

Free To Be Kids Charitable Trust provided Education & Nutritious Meals to the Children living in the Salt Lake Slum Communities in the month of January 2022. A Total of 158 Children were regular attending the Education program and 169 children attended the Nutrition Program. We gave a total of 1717 meals in this month!

In the month of January 2022 our Youth Computer Classes were held in the Community. All youth attended the class sincerely. A total of 25 Young People were regularly in attendance!

On the 3^rd January 2022, recently donated Sewing Machines were installed in the homes of the 4 women who received these gifts from the Rotary Club Behala.  Theses machines are already actively being used by these grateful recipients to earn money for their family!
