On the 21^st May members of the Krishnarampur village received a water filter as a support to their family health. Free To Be Kids Charitable Trust distributed these water filters in collaboration with the Inner Wheel Club of Behala. 30 families benefited from these filters. In this area, people rarely are able to purify their water and village area water is not the best for drinking. These families are very happy to receive these water filters. 

Our FTBK Charitable Trust continued our community English classes at Krishnarampur village. 111 children attended these English classes in the month of May. Our FTBK team teach the children English through activities and raising important social issues, protective behaviours are also covered in this class. The children are very happy to learn.

Free To Be Kids Charitable Trust provided Education & Nutritious Meals to the children dwelling in 6 slums in Kolkata during the month of May. A total of 158 Children were regularly attending the Education program.  173 children attended our Nutrition Program and a total of 1503 meals were provide for them. In the month of May children participated in their usual lessons along with special craft work which they especially enjoyed.

During the Summer Holidays FTBK Girl’s home home children participated in a lot of activities. The Children learnt about the Advantages of Meditation, Sandwich Making, Rubber Band Making with discarded Clothes plus they enjoyed fun in the swimming pool.

At Free To Be Kids we always aim to help children to fulfil their dreams. One boy that we have supported for the past  12years, has completed his class 10 in this year, and he has a long term dream of learning Hair Designing.  Our team searched for and found a good college for him and are funding his studies at this reputed college. He has taken admission in the Diploma in Hair Designing course from Keya Seth College of Beauty.  We believe this will be a wonderful step for him in achieving his dream in the future.

On the 8^th May 2022,  FTBK Girl’s Home Children celebrated Mother's Day at our Girl's Home. The children honoured and wished all the Carers the best of wishes and everyone enjoyed cake together to celebrate.

On th 9^th May 2022, the FTBK children & staff visited Nicco Park for a one day outing. Everyone very much enjoyed this experience and it brought a lot of smiles to every face.

This little girl has been coming to our education program for the last two years. Her father is a rickshaw driver, and her mother is a housewife. Her family was unable to fill up the school admission forms so our FTBK team happily went with the parents and assisted them to fill in the school forms. It's a privilege to help families in this way.

Free To Be Kids team distributed gift packs in multiple areas of Kolkata to people in need. The packets contained lentils, Shoes, Blankets and sweaters. A good number of people living in the slums we work in are daily labours and they do not own their own land, they are squatting on Government Land. The people who live in this area are struggling with poverty. Those small gifts brought a lot of happiness to their faces. This program helped FTBK team to extend our good relationships with the community.

In April 2022 we celebrated the Anniversary of the Birth of Dr.  B.R. Ambedkar. On this 131st birth anniversary, our children’s home children participated in drawings and watched a short documentary of Dr. Ambedkar. This session was conducted by our FTBK Children's Home Counsellor.
