Cyclone Yaas Relief Project

Cyclone Yaas Relief Project

Recently our team visited the Gosaba Area in The Sunderbans to bring relief to those affected by Cyclone Yaas.  In this area were able to distribute necessary items in three villages.  In these areas, the houses were waterlogged, and properties damaged with many household items destroyed. We encountered many people suffering from the loss of their income because their farming areas were destroyed, their water supplies inundated with salty water and there was extensive damage to public infrastructure. In this situation, some families are still living in rescue centres, with neighbours and friends, or on the roadside because their family home is either damaged or destroyed due to the effects of the Cyclone. On this occasion we provided support to these families through provision of dry food items, clothing, water and sanitary items. A total of 310 families were supported through this relief effort.  All this support came through local donations, and we were able to physically provide these in partnership with the local Panchayat member in these areas. We are so thankful to our generous donors who made this possible through their gifts!

Covid-19 Relief Feeding Program

As a response to the current Crisis, our Management Team has launched a project to provide meals to those who are struggling at this time. Due to sickness, loss of income, financial stress and lockdowns, many people are not receiving proper nutrition. It is in this situation we have raised funds to provide meals for people directly affected by the Covid Crisis.  In the past 8 Days we have provided 591 meals to people who are struggling in the Community. These meals have been distributed to needy people outside the local Government Hospital, those living on the streets and in bus shelters and those who attend the local police station looking for food. We are so thankful to the generous members of our local community who have made this support possible. We hope to continue these meals over the coming days as we know that these are very helpful to those who receive them at this time.
