In this year we celebrated 9 years of working with children in need in Kolkata! We are so thankful to be able to provide support to children who most benefit from a place of safety, empowerment and strenthening! We are happy to work in both Residential Care and throughout our Community Programs to bring support where it is truly helping those in need!

We are so encouraged to see the success of one of our Graduates as we continue to support her to study her Bachelor of Science  in Nursing! She is going to become such a great nurse in the community in the future!         

Our Kid's Clubs in the Community are going well with children getting the chance to learn songs, dance, play games and be involved in craft activities.  These clubs are focussed on the betterment and development of children in need!

We were happy to be able to provide a fun picnic program to celebrate Republic Day with the Children in our Community!

We focussed our activities on group games and competitions and enjoyed a yummy Biriyani for lunch and snacks in the evening!

The Children's Committee put together an amazing celebration of all the Free To Be Kids Team that spend time teaching them in Tuition, Dance, Tailoring, Life Skills etc and those who work in our Community Free Tuition Programs in the Slum Communities!

The Boys in our Boy's Home are enjoying the opportunity to rest and relax with some fun physical activity in our Swimming Pool! To keep one's mind and body healthy it is necessary to combine a good balance of physical activities, educational endeavours and rest and relaxation!

As the Girls within our Children's Home learn to process their past stories, their current realities and their future dreams our Social Worker and Counsellor are always there to offer support in the areas of 1-1 counselling, group therapy and activities for their development and strength.

We are proud to have seen these children pass their 10th Examinations and now we are continuing our Education Support for them to complete their Class 12 Exams through the NIOS System.  We are happy to see their enthusiasm for their studies!  

We are so happy to see the development of our Community support activities! We currently have 25 young people involved in Community Computer Classes in our Community. These young people are getting the opportunity to have real life lessons and hands on practise of working a computer and it's software! This is such a useful tool for them and this skill will make them more employable in the future!

Our most recent work in the Community is to provide informal education to children living in 7 different slum communities. These children receive basic numeracy and literacy classes plus a nutritious meal twice a week! These programs make a real difference as children have the opportunity to access education that will help to guide them in the future!
