How exciting to hear the news today that this beautiful girl, who we've supported firstly in protective care, and then within the community for her higher studies, has now received her first job in a hotel in the city! We are so thankful to our supporters who've walked this journey with us to see her standing strong!

After the completion of our Computer Training Course for youth in one Community, we have now started a new program in another area.  Each participant of this training receives the great opportunity to become proficient in the Basics of Computer, thus strengthening them for their future studies and work life. 

Education has the power to protect, give a greater outlook for the future and develop a child's ability to make good decisions that will affect their life. Through our weekly program we are continually providing Education in the form of teaching and tuition to children living in 7 slum communities. It is our aim to see each one of these children enrolled in their local school and accessing formal education!

On a weekly basis we are providing Two Nutritious meals to over 160 Children who are living in 7 different slum communities in Kolkata.  Our team visit with the families to build greater relationships and are a constant encouragment for parents in their vital roles as primary Care Givers and Protectors of their family.

We consider it an important part of a our work with Children to teach them about their rights, and how to access these rights, both now and in the future! We stand for their right to Survival, Participation, Development and Protection!

Within our Community there is a great need to see children understand their right to Protection! Over the past few months we have facilitated a number of Classes with children that focus on their knowledge of good and bad touch, how to protect themselves and who are their trustworthy people within the Community!

Carers, Teachers, Cooks, Social Workers and Community Staff are just a few of the roles our team members carry! To keep our team focussed and equipped for the task of working with children in need, we spend regular time together to build each other up and be empowered!

Not only do the children we work with get a chance to develop their minds, but also their creativity. The children particularly enjoy the freedom and fun that comes from participating in dance classes!

Over a period of 5 months some of the children we work with attended general knowledge classes. They gained a lot of understanding of the world they live in and learnt about iconic Indians that have used their knowledge to make a difference. These classes ended in a Quiz Competition and we are proud to say the FreeToBeKids participants won

We love to see Children reunited with Safe Families. In this past few months we have celebrated 3 Children returning to the care of a family member!

Our Team is working with the local Child Protection Authorities to reunite Children with family members, when it is in their best interests!

Our Team provides education and a nutritious meal twice weekly to children living in 7 different slum communities. The children are eager to learn and we've seen a noted increase in the amount of children attending formal schooling since our work began here!
