Kilos of Kindness Distribution Program May 2026

Program Name: Kilos of Kindness Program for Persons with a Disability

A. Objective:

The main objective of the program was to provide immediate support to vulnerable families of persons with disabilities who are facing financial hardship during this difficult period. The initiative aimed to ensure that essential food items reached families in need and to reassure them that they are not alone in their struggles.

B. Activities Conducted:

On 12th May 2026, FTBK organized the “Kilos of Kindness” program for persons with disabilities and their families. Most of the beneficiary families belong to Below Poverty Level (BPL) households and are currently facing severe financial difficulties due to unstable social and economic conditions in West Bengal. As many earning members of the families were unable to secure regular work, several families approached FTBK seeking support. Responding promptly to the situation, FTBK arranged the distribution of essential grocery items to 13 vulnerable families to help meet their daily nutritional and household needs. Each family from Balarampur received a support package containing 5 kg rice, 500 gm dal, 1 litre cooking oil, 1 kg potato, 1 kg onion, 1 kg salt, 2 packets of biscuits, 500 gm Kabuli chana, 500 gm motor, 1 kg atta, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, soyabean, 500 gm Surf, soap, and 500 gm kala chana. The distribution aimed to reduce the immediate burden on the families and support them with basic necessities.

During the visit, the FTBK team also spent meaningful time interacting with the beneficiaries and their caregivers, offering emotional encouragement and assuring them of continued support. The team emphasized the importance of dignity, inclusion, and care for every child and person with disability. In addition, discussions were held regarding the upcoming medical check-up and therapy session scheduled for 14th May 2026, and family members were encouraged to attend regularly for the well-being of the beneficiaries.

C. Outcome:

The program provided timely relief to 13 vulnerable families by ensuring access to essential food and household supplies during a period of financial crisis. The support helped reduce immediate stress among the families and strengthened their sense of security and belonging. The interaction with the FTBK team also encouraged beneficiaries and caregivers to remain connected with healthcare and therapy services, promoting both physical and emotional well-being.
